1980
Founded in Singapore
Mr. Eng Swee Yeng established Penguin Engineering & Construction with a focused mission: flawless plant maintenance, steel and piping services. Early clients included Esso and Mobil.
1980s–2000s
Growth & Specialization
As Singapore’s energy sector expanded, Penguin scaled operations to master major capital project works, high-stakes plant turnarounds and shutdown operations across refineries and petrochemical complexes.
2003
Partner network expansion
Mirador Building Contractor Pte Ltd, now a sister company, was established and certified as an Approved Scaffold Contractor by the Ministry of Manpower — expanding integrated service capabilities.
2016-2022
Safety excellence
Eight consecutive years of zero recordable injuries at ExxonMobil sites. Multiple bizSAFE Enterprise Exemplary Awards and the ASEAN-OSHNET Excellence Award confirmed Penguin as a safety benchmark.
2026 April
Daisan acquisition
Daisan Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Stock Exchange, Standard Market, Code 4750) acquired 100% of Penguin’s shares — opening a new chapter of growth with Japanese engineering discipline and regional reach.
